Juan D. Parra, M.D. received his medical degree from the Javeriana University Medical School, in Bogota, Colombia where he is originally from. He then went on to complete his residency in general surgery at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. He stayed there as a clinical assistant professor until 2011.
Dr. Parra has published several articles and done research on minimally invasive surgery and gastro-esophageal reflux disease. He has strong interest in gastrointestinal surgery, complex abdominal wall hernia surgery, as well as benign and malignant colorectal disease treatment.
Dr. Parra is a board-certified general surgeon as well as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
When Dr. Parra isn't at work he enjoys spending time with his wife and their two daughters. They love to travel, particularly back home to visit family. He enjoys many recreational activities like dancing, basketball, and his weekly soccer match.
